If your dog has a difficult time sleeping at night, chances are, you are, too. There are plenty of reasons that keep pets up in the evening and with all the fussing and barking, something must be done.
Here are a few simple tricks you can try:
Tire your pup out
If he's overly active at night, it just means that he still has a lot of energy to burn. make sure he gets sufficient physical exercise throughout the day so that when bed time comes, he's beat. A daily walk or a regular game of fetch is ideal.
Establish a routine
Dogs can't read the clock that's why it's your job to establish both a day and night routine for them. When evening approaches, familiarize him with a routine ending with bed time. For example, every evening after he has dinner, turn off the lights or take away his toys to let him know that it's bed time.
Make his sleep space comfortable
It's important to make sure that wherever he sleeps, he is comfortable in that spot. Leave a long-lasting treat or his favorite toy in his sleep space so he can associate sleeping with positive things.
We hope that you and your furry friend always get a good night's sleep!
