5 Pet-Friendly Travel Tips You Should Follow

Posted by Kristy Schaefer on

Traveling with your Yorkie is no easy feat. Aside from making sure that he's comfortable and safe, you should also consider that he's well-fed, well-rested and entertained. Here are a few pet-friendly travel tips you should follow for a fun, hassle-free trip with our fur baby:

Exercise your dog before leaving

Burning off your pet's excess energy before a drive will make him want to rest during the ride. This means he'll be more behaved!

Feed your dog beforehand

If your Yorkie has motion sickness, it is best to feed him a few hours before you leave to lessen his chances of being car sick. If you're going away for a while, be sure to pack enough food and water for your pet.

Don't forget the doggy diapers

When traveling with your fur baby, it is your responsibility to clean up after them. Put them on doggy diapers especially if you're going on a long drive. Don't forget the wipes and disposal bags as well!

Keep them entertained

Dogs have the tendency to get into trouble when they're bored, so it's a must to bring along their favorite toys. Don't forget the treats!

Watch your pet closely

It is important to keep an eye on your pet especially when he's not familiar with the place. Keep his collar and tags on at all times in case of emergency.

Follow these simple tips and traveling with your Yorkie will be easier than ever!
